AspenTech acquires OptiPlant for early-stage, AI-enabled design

AspenTech just announced that it is acquiring OptiPlant, which you may know of for its automatic pipe routing — but the company also offers additional tools to explore and select appropriate options early in the plant design process.

AspenTech says, “this acquisition will help to expand AspenTech’s vision for Industrial AI with the next generation of technology that includes AI-driven conceptual plant layouts which increase the variety and simplify option changes in early design decisions.”

The terms of the transaction are not disclosed and it sounds like a done deal.
