Quickie: Siemens adds TimeSeries to Mendix

Apr 28, 2021 | Hot Topics

A busy day just got busier: Siemens Digital Industries Software just announced that it will acquire TimeSeries, which helps partners and customers build industry-specific low-code apps on its Mendix platform.

According to Siemens, TimeSeries is already a Mendix partner with “significant expertise in the development of vertical apps built on the Mendix low-code platform” Siemens believes adding TimeSeries to its offering, rather than continuing on the parter route, will “accelerate digital transformation by increasing adoption of low-code and offering new apps including smart warehousing, predictive maintenance, energy management, remote inspections and more.”

Derek Roos, CEO of Mendix, said that adding TimeSeries to Mendix will “help our customers and partners get to value with low-code even faster. We’re equipping enterprises with cutting-edge digital capabilities to help them elevate how they conduct business and deliver rich, engaging experiences. The TimeSeries team brings deep expertise in developing SaaS solutions for a range of verticals, and I’m excited to welcome them to Siemens.” TimeSeries helps create “bespoke industry apps, templates and re-usable components that leverage advanced technologies — including AI, intelligent process automation, multiexperience, state-of-the-art UI design, multi-cloud, and more”.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but we may learn more when Siemens releases earnings next week. Or we may not — this is likely a small, though strategically important, deal in the hugeness that is Siemens AG.
