It’s Pi Day!
Yes, the Boston area is digging out from the third major storm in two weeks, much of the news is lousy and uncertain — but it’s Pi Day! Today is March 14, which the US writes as 3/14 or perhaps 3.14. Hmm. That looks suspiciously like the first few digits of the Greek letter π. The US Department of Education has some nifty ways to celebrate the day, including writing a Pi-ku. A haiku follows the pattern of 5-7-5 syllables in each line; a Pi-ku uses (yup) 3-1-4 syllables. My attempt:
Show a kid
Math can be fun!
