Deal and … maybe deal
What happens when I spend the day on a plane? News!
Briefly, AVEVA and Schneider Electric have resumed their tango. AVEVA today addressed press speculation by issuing an announcement that it was again in talks with Schneider Electric about a deal that would combine Schneider Electric Software and AVEVA. The press release is very cautious, saying that discussions are preliminary, there’s no certainty of anything happening or in any particular timeframe, and that anything they do agree on may not, eventually lead to any kind of deal. It’s a non-announcement, British-style. Did anyone not see this possibility?
Today is also the start of Hexagon Live, the company’s multi-brand extravaganza of a user conference. To get things started, Hexagon announced that it has losed the acquisition of NESTIX Oy, a Finnish developer of production control solutions for pipe and steel fabrication. NESTIX’ products span steel fab from work preparation to part nesting to assembly welding and other part and assembly processes.
Hexagon says NESTIX has over 500 customers in 40 countries, with over 8,000 users. CEO Ola Rollén says that “NESTIX technology is already a key component of our Intergraph Smart Yard offering. This acquisition will enable us to integrate the full suite of NESTIX capabilities into our PP&M portfolio, strengthening our position in the industrial fabrication market while offering clients a more comprehensive solution for their pipe and steel production management.”
No price was announces, and NESTIX is fully consolidated as of today.
