I’m at PTC Live Global in Boston right now and we’ve had no lack of news: PTC announced an acquisition (Atego, more soon), Creo 3.0 and Creo Elements/Direct 19.0, agreements and collaborations galore. In today’s post over at the PTC Creo blog, I pick my favorites from the list of Creo 3.0 enhancements and ask, when is the right time to upgrade?
Of course, you already know there’s no blanket answer. Is it an incremental release to an existing platform, which 3.0 seems to be, or a kernel- or format-changing release? Once that’s off the table, it comes down to: do you think it will let you do more, better and faster, than you can today? And does that offset the pain of change?
Read more over at the Creo blog. And if you’re at PTC Live, I’d love to meet up — I’ll be in the press corral at the keynote.
