All about you and you and you …

I started Schnitger Corp. a little over a year ago, and I must say it’s gone very well. Thank you! But this post is about you, the people who read this blog. My hosting provider makes available a pile of statistics from which I’ve distilled the following • in the last month, the site had 13,000 hits, hosting 4,000 sessions that looked at over 6,000 pages (in other words, most people looked at one or two pages although one person looked at 30!) • most of you came in from the feed links (subscribe) although quite a few found the site through search engines • more individual hits came in on the customer advisory panel piece than any other single item, but the company you’re most curious about is Autodesk • for the first time since I started trying to figure out these hosting stats, a number of referrals came from Microsoft’s bing.com — but the vast majority of search referrals still come from google sites around the world • you’re an international group from ,hu, .pl, ,it, .ca and many more • only about 1/3 of you use Internet Explorer. The rest use feed readers of all sorts, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Safari, Opera and a bunch of stuff I haven’t heard of. I had thought Explorer would be the favorite • eclectic doesn’t begin to describe what you’re searching for when you find this site: from my name in many variations to “did symphony buy msc?” to acronyms like CAE and individual company and CEO names • since there are no sign-ins, I have only domain information available to figure out who you are. You’re PLM users and developers, universities, media and the generally inquisitive. Alas, some of you are still getting errors when a search engine’s links aren’t updated for the new site layout — and I am truly sorry about that. Luckily, when I look at a week-by-week view, fewer of you are running into problems as we go through August so it would appear that the changes are propagation as they need to.
