I’ve been fortunate over a long career to meet many amazing people. One of the most interesting has just been profiled by Investors Business Daily in their series on entrepreneurs: ESRI founder Jack Dangermond, arguably the “creator” of GIS. Jack’s built what appears to be a very profitable business on the principle that people essentially want to “do good”, whether researching epidemics or deforestation — or selling software. It’s interesting read that juxtaposes Dangermond’s life against the needs of the times.
