CD-adapco’s stimulus bill: "No Engineer Left Behind"

CD-adapco today upped the ante on helping displaced engineers improve their skills and
marketability. "No Engineer Left Behind" is a global program — all others that I’m aware of
are US-based — offering training at any CD-adapco facility, a CD-adapco certificate of
competence, and a six month license for CD-adapco’s STAR-CCM+ CFD code. The
company believes that having access to the code will allow attendees to hone the skills
learned in class, and values the opportunity at well over $25,000 of in-kind value.

It gets better: The program is intended for unemployed engineers. But should a program
participant find a job during the 6 month STAR-CCM+ license period, (s)he may continue
to use the software, with CD-adapco’s permission, at the new employer until the license
expires. It’s an interesting strategy to get STAR-CCM+ into new accounts and build
customers for life.
